New Favorite: White Denim Skirt

Shop My Look

Top Aritzia / Skirt Nordstrom / Shoes Zara (similar here & here)/ Bag Chloe / Belt Vintage / Sunnies Sonix

White denim is one of my favorite versatile pieces that you can wear year round. In my opinion, white extends past labor day and should be worn with confidence anytime you feel like it. Add it to a winter neutral look or pair it with any color for a fun summer ensemble. This distressed jean skirt is one of my favorites and a nice change up from my denim jeans/shorts rotation. For anyone looking for a fresh spring item to add to their wardrobe, check out my top picks for white denim skirts below.

Weekend Update

Another week of slow blog posts…another round of apologizes. This week has been crazy with family, website frustrations and little free time to actually sit & write thoughtful/informative posts. Sometimes when you feel like if you can’t put 100% into something, you don’t even want to start? That’s the perfectionist in me – I don’t like to half ass anything & that includes throwing up low quality posts.

One exciting update – I was recently accepted into the Reward Style program and am excited to have this additional blogging tool to share my favorite items with you! I am still trying to wrap my head around the technical side (hence the website frustration), but at least you can receive my looks via the Liketoknow.it emails. Sign up for the app and shop your favorite blogger looks by liking or screen shooting their IG images.

While I love to look stylish, comfort is the name of the game most days. Recently I found this amazing distressed, cutoff sweatshirt (reminds me of the 80’s — except it’s missing the neon hue) but super comfy & I have already worn this multiple times. It’s great quality and a bit of a splurge, but I am trying to find one piece I want to reach for all the time instead of 5 sale items that will sit at the back of my closet (hard habit to break). I wasn’t able to find a ton of similar styles to link — so sorry…usually this is my blogging sweet spot! Maybe that’s why I was drawn to it because I have’t seen this style around.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Accessories has always been one of my favorite aspects of fashion because sometimes the smallest pieces can make the biggest statements about your personal style. It’s fun way to experiment with self expression, play around with different trends and most importantly, figure out what works best for you. Whether you are into keep up with the latest “it girl” crazes or investing in classic pieces that never go out of style — there is something for everyone at every price point.

These studded mules and straw hat are a few new spring additions that fit my atheistic and reflect my casual style. I love to find subtle ways to add texture and interest to my outfits without leaving it to my clothes to do all the heavy lifting. So whether you pile on the bracelets for a rocking arm party or keep it simple with a minimal watch, your accessories reflect a bit of who you are & where you’re headed 🙂

I tend to gravitate towards things that keep me feel calm and help me maintain a positive mindset. Such starting my morning routine making my daughter pancakes, drinking my coffee while cuddling & watching cartoons with her. Simple, but those early blissful moments starts me off on the right foot. More often than not, life can get complicated, stressful & unpredictable — so style is one small aspect that you can use as a tool to help you feel confident & capable. I may not be able to control my circumstances or what comes my way, but meeting the day head on while feeling fabulous can help influence your mentality.

That’s why denim is my go-to. It’s comfortable, classic and I could wear it everyday of my life. I recently purchased my first jean jacket in a long time and fell in love with this one from Levi’s. It feels heavy, good quality and I can see this in my closet for years to come. Bottom line, it’s a great investment & will continue to make me feel self confident with every wear.

When you find a piece that makes you feel like a million bucks, it’s worth wearing on repeat because some days you need all the self confidence you can get. Take this Rails cactus top for example. It is so comfortable, versatile and I get a ton of complements whenever I wear it. So why not add to my weekly rotation? The small amount of joy I get when I hear a stranger say “I love that shirt!” may help melt away negative thoughts I have be having at the moment. This also helps remind me to GIVE out complements, because I know how much I love receiving them. You never know what type of day someone is having and a bit of unexpected kindness can go a long way 🙂

Please excuse my absence from posting…after our LA trip, it took a few days to get back in the swing of things and before I knew it, almost a whole week had flown by. Am I the only one who blinked and now we are almost into April? I am slightly dragging my feet about this next month because now that I’ve hit the big 3-0, I am not near as excited about my birthday as I once was. Don’t get me wrong, I am loving being in my 30’s — my confidence & sense of self is growing stronger — but time isn’t going backward. Maybe it’s just a mental thing…but in my mind I’m still 25, so the reality of someday being “middle aged” still seems far off (not that it’s a bad thing, it just seems surreal). I’m challenging myself daily to just enjoy where I am at and life is only going to get better. So with that in mind — I am excited to see what it has in store. (Positive thoughts right?!)

While in LA, I picked up these Dolce Vita studded slides I’ve been stalking online from Nordstrom. They add a bit of embellishment to otherwise plain black flats and are a great addition to my white blouse & shorts combo. I’ve built a fairly minimalistic wardrobe, so I am trying to throw in some fun, interesting accessories to help add interest to my overall looks.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Last week, my husband and I visited his sisters who live in Los Angeles. His parents came along and it was a great weekend of amazing food, sunny walks on the beach and quality family time. We stayed in Santa Monica and ventured down to Venice Beach, which I discovered my favorite street of all time, Abbott Kinney. This magical street is filled with boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops and planters full of succulents that makes it for a perfect California experience. And if you’ve seen my IG, you already know I’m obsessed with all things green, so I was in plant heaven!

I snagged this Michael Stars dress from a cute boutique (similar one linked below) and can’t wait to wear it during the hot summer months. These slides are so comfortable that I picked up from Zara and are such a great addition to my shoe collection. Easy, functional and simple…what’s not to love? Wearing breezy, effortless pieces really put me in a summer state of mind, so it was definitely a shock to my system coming back to blasts of cold wind! But thankfully spring is right around the corner 🙂

Sometimes I feel my most confident when I keep things simple. That’s why I love my uniform of jeans and a vneck tee…you can layer this combo with anything and you know you’ll be comfortable. This time I paired it with a cozy grey sweater because the weather is doing some crazy things!

Distressed cropped jeans have been my go-to favorite lately and can’t wait to wear these all spring long. Or if you’re like me, most likely I will be wearing them into the summer as well (because I am always freezing). Never the less, I have been stocking up on these lately because denim will always have my heart 🙂

Pants can be a strong, chic look for any formal or special event. I have worn these Forever 21 black pants or a jumpsuit to several weddings last year and I have to say, it was a welcome change from a cocktail dress. Paired with heels, a cropped or floor length pair of pants can really make you feel comfort and confident at the same time. If you haven’t tried it, I can assure you that you will stand out in the best way possible!!

Spring Wish List

Screen Shot 2017-03-01 at 3.32.11 PM

With spring right around the corner, I am ready to shed some layers and to jump into stripes, florals and easy flats. A few upcoming trends that peaked my interest were v-neck shoes, sleeve detail, embroidery and the color red. Though I love my neutrals, I could stand to inject my wardrobe with a pop of color. Keeping my wish list within the realm of effortless, chic with a bit of femininity mixed in, I hope enjoy my edit and get inspired for the warm days ahead!
